Yes it is true that The Odyssey from 1992 is only a television show, and indeed is also considered a children's television show, but it nevertheless depicts the world in a unique way.  In fact many things in The Odyssey are the antithesis of or opposite of many of the things shown in most other television shows.  For instance, most television shows take place in a supposed democracy, where as The Odyssey takes place in a dictatorship.  By being able to see the antithesis of what is drilled into your head in school and by the media, you can begin to form your own ideas about the way things are.  Indeed, it often seems the the real world is much more like the fictional world of The Odyssey than it is like the world depicted in other television shows or the way the real world is taught to be in school.
